
American television icon, television producer, Grammy Award-winning southern-gospel singer, and writer, Andy Griffith, passed on July 3, 2012. He will always be remembered for his beloved roles in “The Andy Griffith Show” and “Matlock” among many others. But he will not just be remembered for his acting. Griffith also recorded a number of music albums including a version of the “The Andy Griffith Show’s” theme song sung by Griffith under the title “The Fishin’ Hole.” In recent years, he recorded successful albums of classic Christian hymns for Sparrow Records. His most successful was the 1996 release I Love to Tell the Story: 25 Timeless Hymns, which was certified platinum by the RIAA. Griffith appeared in country singer Brad Paisley’s music video “Waitin’ on a Woman”. Griffith died from a heart attack at his home on Roanoke Island in Dare County, North Carolina. He was buried in the Griffith Family Cemetery on the island within five hours of his death. He will be missed.

Yes, Shelly, in his elder years particularly. I remember he played a part on a popular country music video; I can’t remember the name, but it played on CMT for a long time.
