Letter From A Little Girl We’ll “Call Kim”
My dad is going to jail the first day I go back to school
He hasn’t really told us anything, but I know from encrypted emails he sends to his friends (I know all of his passwords to his emails).
Anyway, I’ve been very depressed lately and I’ve been crying every night because a lot is going on right now. How do I cope when my dad goes to jail?
He’s going to jail for a lot of different white-collar crimes I have a very hard time believing he committed! How will he be treated in prison?
I have no friends who can comfort me because they think my dad will hire some hotshot lawyer and everything will be done with. My brothers don’t seem to care about this and my mom is an alcoholic who makes everything seem 100x worse than it really is.
What do I do?
When Magazine’s Answer:
What do you do when a family member is taken away due to crimes that they committed?
In this world, we all fall short of the glory of God, therefore there is no necessity in blaming your family member or yourself for what has happened. Try to put your trust in a higher power such as God that will ease your pain and grant you comfort. Do the honorable thing and rise above the circumstance. Don’t allow the same thing to happen in your own life. Stay steadfast to The Word of God. Don’t stray from it to the left or the right. Instead of growing introverted, worrying over the situation and becoming depressed … put yourself out into the community; volunteering to share the word of God with prisoners that need to hear it!
You can touch many lives, you’ll be doing a great service to God’s people and it will very much ease the pain of losing your loved one. You’ll feel like you’re helping your loved one personally.
Furthermore, look forward to the day they will return to be in your arms. Better yourself by staying positive in the mind and soul so that you’ll truly be the light of the world that God has called you to be. You CAN make an impact on this world. You DON’T have the same destiny as your loved one, and if you follow these suggestions you WILL help “them personally when they return” …
