When We Remember And Shed Light On Controversy in 2010 – We Back Scott Borschetta 100%!

CEO of Big Machine Records, Scott Borschetta who is responsible for much of Taylor Swift’s successful music career stood up for his artist after critics pointed out a “bad” performance during the 52nd annual grammy awards. When Kelly Clarkson, founded on American Idol (now getting ready to sing Duets on ABC’s “Duets” on May 24th, 2012) appeared to get upset over a statement Borschetta made, the controversy (in 2010) seemed to stir up the public AND press. Many media outlets made a HUGE ordeal around Kelly Clarkson and Scott Borschetta, when (in all reality) we don’t think the original defense had anything to do with Clarkson to begin with.
Borschetta Defends Taylor:
“The biggest message is [the critics] are not getting it,” Borchetta said. “Because the facts say she is the undisputed best communicator that we’ve got. When she says something, when she sings something, when she feels something, it affects more people than anybody else.
“Maybe she’s not the best technical singer, but she’s probably the best emotional singer because everybody else who gets up there and is technically perfect, people don’t seem to want more of it. … I think [the critics] are missing the whole voice of a generation that is happening right in front of them. ..”
Borschetta Defends Taylor Once More:
“She is the voice of this generation. She speaks directly to [her fans], and they speak directly back to her. This is not American Idol. This is not a competition of getting up and seeing who can sing the highest note. This is about a true artist and writer and communicator. It’s not about that technically perfect performance.”
Anyway, Clarkson later posts a letter to Borschetta on her blog, sparks even more debate. (not important; it happened later)
We are not “dogging” on any particular party for our purpose in digging this up is NOT to give light to KELLY CLARKSON AT ALL. We simply think Borschetta had a good point to make with his statements in 2010, and even though its been a couple of years since this controversy, we thought it important to express our support of Borschetta’s defense. In business, most often the individual or business that gets ahead is the one with the utmost perfect PRINCIPLE and NOT SKILL. We believe this to be true in reference to the mighty success of “The Taylor Empire” founded by Scott Borschetta.
We can learn a lot from this story, and that is why we’ve shared it.
