She is everywhere you look, every magazine, on every “entertainment tv channel , on every r and b hip hop station. Her Lyrics are subject to a lot of conversations…. Her bright red hair and “loud fashion ” trend is carried on through the communities of the world……Rihanna…. but this time though eyes of a average everyday 27 year old woman. Might sound a little bias , I am a huge fan . I have been for “years”. But here is my insight……
From “SOS” to “American Vogue” we have watched her grow into the woman she is now.
She has inspired so many through her times of “life” lessons to do better in theirs’. But because of her lyrics and “sexy” clothes most judge before listening to what we know her for, musical talent. Yes !!! I understand, sometimes, I myself am asking ” what do you have on Ri’? ” , but that is a way of expressing ourselves. It’s like your own language. And our generation is daring and very competitively bold. She once stated “wear the clothes don’t let them wear you!” So wear what ever makes you, you ! But, if you can look past that and see the music. The reason she is who she is ,the talent and potential …….. Most women have a “bold” side .. no not every song is gonna be a rated – G for the family, but we watch rated R movies don’t we? And we normally send the kids to bed first…………… Her lyrics are daring. Her videos are “sexy”.. for some we understand, for others musical talent is when you feel the meaning of your songs, when every word has emotions the voice pitches are on note, and you can hear the artist soul pour out of the song. But the artist is so versatile that every song on the CD changes your emotions with it. Maybe its because of my age but from her first album i have understood. Each “wave of generations ” has a time line and as Cher was to my mom,as Rihanna is to me. As young woman we understand the emotions and lesson life gives us, and to hear about it from one to another , gives us an understanding.
Rihanna and plenty of other artists have touched my life with their music and I personally want to thank EACH music artist because different music is for different people. It touches our souls. It helps us as fans get through tough times, fun times, love times, and every time in between . You help us say what we are, sometimes, really scared to … when your songs’ come on, our mind sometimes “flips on a memory” and it brings a smile to our faces. We feel what you are saying and we turn it into “ours”. Honestly, you help our everyday get better. Each generation is always gonna argue “taste” in music , even “taste” in clothes……… (and as long as our LORD willing, that will continue to happen for many more
generations to come.) But that is what makes it so much better.
With that said: Thank you Rihanna for being so LOUD!! Thank you for being so OUTSPOKEN!! Thank you for TAKING RISK !! And Thank you for taking a bad situation and turning it in to music so we to, can be strong and stand up ………. But, Sometimes music is all we need to make things just a little bit better.
