46th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards
Miranda Lambert Thanks God for her Blessings!
Las Vegas “went Country” as they hosted the Country Music Awards this year. The show had a variety of artists, not just Country, which gave it more diversity. Though, of all of the talented people on stage, it was Miranda Lambert who stole the show by winning the most awards and taking the time during one acceptance speech to Thank God for her blessings!
Duet performances in different genres made the night “a little bit country, a little bit rock n’ roll.” Carrie Underwood teamed up with Steven Tyler to perform his Aerosmith hit, “Walk This Way” and her hit, “Undo It”. Rihanna and Jennifer Nettles of “Sugarland” performed a duet of “California King Bed”, an R&B ballad that showcased both singers’ powerful voices.
Other performances were by Brad Paisley and Alabama singing “Old Alabama” in a grand Country style fitting the evening. Miranda Lambert won several awards including, Video of the Year, Single of the Year, Female Vocalist, and Song of the Year for her hit “The House that Built Me”. “Lady Antebellum” took home Album of the Year and Top Vocal Group awards for “Need You now”. ”Sugarland” won Best Vocal Duo, Brad Paisley won Best Male Vocalist and Taylor Swift took the top prize: Entertainer of the Year.
