The ideal time to visit ICEHOTEL depends upon what you want to experience.
As the ICEHOTEL changes during the year – solid ice in the winter,
free-flowing during spring and summer – you can see the best each season
has to offer.

The first part of December is when the winter visitors typically begin to
arrive. During this time ICEHOTEL is in its formative stage allowing
guests an in-depth look at the complex sculpting process involved with
creating ICEHOTEL. They get to see snow cannons at work on the Torne River
shore, automated ice-hauling machines, and sculptors creating works of art
from ice.  Each week, a new section of ICEHOTEL, upon its completion, is
unveiled for guest and visitor use.

The ICEHOTEL season occurs during the darkest time of the year, when the
sun never reaches above the horizon, but the grandiose of the ICEHOTEL is
still a sight to behold.  Furthermore, if you time your visit just right
you may see the spectacular all-natural light show, the Northern Lights,
dance in the sky.
